چکیده

Background Chronic urticaria is a skin disease with an important immunologic profile. There is a great interest not only due to its special clinical manifestation, but also due to its pathogenic mechanism. New data support the participation of ILs (interleukins) in the pathophysiology of CU (chronic urticaria). The aim of this study is to explore the change and its significance of cytokines, comparative characteristics of immune response Th1/Th2 cytokines profiles balance in patients with CU in relation to atopy.

Th1, Th2 and Th17 Cytokine Profile in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis Following Treatment with Rapamycin

Background: Management of multiple sclerosis (MS) is based on the usage of immunosuppressive and immune-modulating medications. Cytokines play an important role in the pathogenesis of MS. Objective: To evaluate the effects of rapamycin on the concentrations of Th1/Th2/Th17 serum cytokines in patients with MS. Methods: Six patients with relapsing remitting MS as a case group and 6 healthy indivi...

ارزیابی سطح سرمی پاسخ های Th1 و Th2 در بیماران مبتلا به مراحل مختلف بیماری مزمن کلیه

Background and Purpose: Various abnormalities of the immune system have been demonstrated in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Patients with CKD commonly present with abnormalities of immune function related with impaired kidney function and the accumulation of uremic toxins. Th1 and Th2 cells produce predominantly some cytokine profiles. The aim of the present study was the determi...

No Evidence of the Th1 to Th2 Cytokine Shift during the Course of HIV Infection

Background and Objectives: Infection with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) results in dysregulation of the cytokine profile. A switch from a T helper 1 (Th1) to a Th2 cytokine has been proposed as an important factor in progression of HIV infection to AIDS. The aim of the present study was to assess the level of Th1 and Th2 cytokines in HIV infected individuals in order to identify t...

Th1 and Th2 Cytokine Gene Polymorphism in Iranian Patients with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia

Background:It has been hypothesized that genetic factors other than histocompatibility disparity may play a role in predisposition to developing Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML). In this regard, Th1 and Th2 cytokines and their gene polymorphism seems to be important. Overall expression and secretion of cytokines is dependent, at least in part, on genetic polymorphism (nucleotide variations) w...

T-helper Type 1 and 2 Cytokine Levels in Patients with Benign and Malignant Salivary Gland Tumors

Background: Salivary gland tumors are among malignancies that have high recurrence rate. Immune responses in salivary gland tumors have not been well elucidated. T helper type 1 (Th1) and Th2 cytokines have been reported to play a role in the outcome of head and neck cancers. Objective: To evaluate the serum levels of interferon gamma (IFN- γ), as the hallmark of Th1 cytokines, and interleukin-...
